Please mention the name of the choir and its place of business.
Minimum 2 performances per choir. A performance lasts max. 25 minutes. We count 5 minutes for going on and off the stage.
You can indicate a preference whether you want to perform 2x outside, 2x inside or 1x inside and 1x outside. There is no guarantee that this is also possible from a planning point of view, but we try to do everything we can to honor the preference.
The stage is therefore available for a maximum of 30 minutes. Please, pay close attention to the schedule! It is important that you go on and off the right stage with your choir at the right time. For example: performance time from 11.30-12.00 . This means that you can go on stage at 11.30 am and you must leave the stage at 12.00 pm. The next choir/group will take the stage at 12.00 pm Running out of the program is not possible due to the large number of choirs and is not fun for anyone. Please, work to prevent that.
No Unfortunately not. There are choirs that would like to sing in a church, or in the theater, or outside on a big stage, or on that small stage in that nice street. With the number off almost 100 choirs and almost 20 stages, the planning is quite complex. For the planning we have to take into account the size of the choir/stage, the facilities (instruments, amplification), conductors or accompanists who come with several choirs, etc. Making a schedule where the performances of each choir take place nicely throughout the day, without gaps in the schedule and without people having to run, is a complex job that takes some time.
Yes, that’s possible. We give the opportunity to indicate a preference whether you want to perform 2x outside, 2x inside or 1x outside and 1x inside. Our foundation is called the Vocal Promotion Foundation and our goal is to promote singing, even among people who would never listen to a choir. Through the outdoor performances they come into contact with the choirs and choral singing. We understand that certain choirs/genres are more suitable for indoor performances. We think it is important that there is a great diversity in the genres. That’s why we have this option. Please note: it is not a guarantee, but we do everything we can to honor the stated preference.
There is no competition element at our festival. Singing is fun, singing together is even more fun. Watching it is fun and listening to it too.
On the stages with a piano there will be an amplified piano with 88 keys and foot pedal. In general, these are digital pianos, in a few cases there will be an acoustic piano on an indoor stage. If your group needs a keyboard, you must bring it yourself. Please pay attention: placing and removing the keyboard falls within the performance time of the choir.
No, unfortunately not There is no time for changing a (entire) drum set. That’s why a full drum kit is ready on a D stage.
Yes If you need guitars in the band, you must bring your own. Guitar amplifiers are present on a D stage.
Yes, but only on a C or D stage (there is a mixing console). Provide your own equipment. If you perform with sound carriers, such as MP3 / MD / CD, please bring your own player so that you are sure that the music can be played without errors and will not be rejected by the equipment.
Please pay attention: you must bring your own cable for connecting the laptop/ipad to the mixing console.
The planning is made in April/May. It’s a huge puzzle! In the course of May, all contacts of the participating choirs will be notified by e-mail and the program will be published on our website.
There are a few hotels, campsites and bed & breakfasts in and around Hengelo. See the regular booking sites for this.
